A Record-Breaking Summer!

StringTime 2026 was a massive success, with 220 signups across the six weeks of camp. This was the largest number of enrollments since StringTime's founding.

Across the violin, viola, and cello camps, our students performed fifty world premieres (the most we've ever done) by Daniel DiMarino, a composer for the Duolingo music learning app. He even made an in-person appearance and signed autographs!
Together, we hosted six concerts in three different locations, learned the basics of our instruments as well as the basics of ensemble playing, and studied music theory using our own curriculum developed by StringTime founder Lourdes de la Peña.
Music History class was a fan favorite, covering all the eras from Baroque to Modern, with twenty-four spotlight composers.

We also enjoyed daily faculty performances featuring music written by composers spanning from Telemann to Taylor Swift. We even had a special visit from Michael Zogaib, bassist with the Kansas City Symphony, who demonstrated and performed for us on the double bass. This was the first time we introduced bass to the StringTime students!
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we were able to offer forty need-based scholarships, a record for StringTime.
A huge thank you to the entire StringTime community for being a part of our mission to spark a lifelong enjoyment of music: from campers and parents to teachers, donors, audience members, volunteers, and facilities, this would not be possible without you.

We can’t wait to see you again next summer!
