A Summer to Remember: StringTime 2024 Camps

Updated: Nov 15, 2024

After 210 hours of camp and countless hours of prep, 128 campers and 12 teachers over 5 weeks, 2 locations and 4 instruments (violin, viola, cello and guitar), we are on the other side of StringTime.

We identified the different kinds of dances within Bach’s music, learned what makes Mozart’s music have such an iconic sound, and analyzed music that is written as a reaction to the times through the works of Shostakovich and Jimi Hendrix.

The students ran around until their little hearts raced, worked through their performance anxiety, and concentrated like never before.

We breathed together, clapped together, sang together, and played together.

That is what StringTime is all about— to spark children’s lifelong enjoyment of music through creative, playful, and educational string instrument camps!

We are already counting the days until next summer!

With joy,

Lourdes de la Peña (StringTime Founder & Director) and the StringTime Family
